Schools Connect is a tutoring society run by students of the University of Cambridge and working with local schools. We are passionate about challenging educational disadvantage and we strongly believe that success in education should not be limited by economic status. Educational disadvantage is one of the most destructive and pervasive social issues in the UK, and is a major problem in Cambridge, where 23.5% of children live in poverty. This has a severe impact on their educational attainment – and we want to help change it!

We currently have over 80 volunteers, working in 20 different projects across 4 schools in Cambridge. Tutors go into schools for an hour a week and work with small groups of students to support their learning and build their confidence. If you are interested in education and making a difference in your local community, click here to sign up to our mailing list!
